Declare the authors capability to power Castro’s author picker and author management. Blog posts always carry the author’s display name in the author field of the post payload: this surface only manages the list users pick from. Implement:
  • GET /authors?per_page=&page=&search= → bare JSON array
  • GET /authors/{id} → one author
  • POST /authors → create; { "username", "email" } are always present, plus optional display_name, first_name, last_name, description, role, url
  • PUT /authors/{id} → partial update
  • DELETE /authors/{id} → { "deleted": true, "id" }
Author object shape:
If your platform has no user system, a simple authors table (or even a JSON file) with names is enough: Castro only needs the names back.
